World-First Reveal – Beach Buggy Racing 2: Island Adventure Hits Apple TV April 28

Updated May 2021: Beach Buggy Racing 2: Island Adventure is out now on Apple TV. Have a read of ATVG’s impressions right here.

Original story:

In a world-first reveal hand-delivered to The Apple TV Gaming Blog by a messenger pigeon dressed as a ninja (kidding, it was an email. Hand-delivered by a pigeon? Dressed as a ninja? If you believed that I want what you’re on) Vector Unit this morning unveiled that Beach Buggy Racing 2: Island Adventure is coming to Apple TV after all.

There were doubts.

But now there are none.

Apple TV has some nice options for fans of kart racing. Table Top Racing: World Tour – Nitro Edition is definitely worth a spin, and Sonic Racing on Apple Arcade is fun, but the original Beach Buggy Racing is still the platform’s king of the kart, beating its competitors with track originality, volume of content, and overall gameplay that combines to create a special kart racing sauce that’s hard to pin down.

After taking the sequel out for a quick spin this morning on ATVG’s trusty Apple TV 4K, it looks like the crown might soon be handed to the sequel.

Beach Buggy Racing 2: Island Adventure for Apple TV is the full, premium, paid console version that’s currently available on Switch, Xbox One, PS4, and PC via Steam, and will sell for USD$19.99 (with prices obviously varying per country). This of course means no in-app purchases, no ads, no loot boxes, and no data tracking. Happy days.

It includes all the features Apple TV’s big console brothers and sisters got – new game modes, car and driver missions, split-screen competition, and game rule customisation.

I’ll post impressions down the track a bit after spending some more quality time with Vector Unit’s upcoming sequel.

Vector Unit has a bunch of high quality options available to satisfy your Apple TV gaming needs, and to get up to speed, you should definitely check out ATVG’s developer profile.

Alright. Good news.
