If you’re looking for games within the survival genre to play on your Apple TV, then an Apple Arcade subscription will unlock more biomes, crafting benches, farming options, resource management, recipes to cook, labyrinths to explore and enemies to vanquish then you could ever possibly have time for.
Check out Stranded Sails, Outlanders, Cozy Grove, Nightmare Farm, The Oregon Trail, Sneaky Sasquatch (maybe not strictly a survival game but it sure ticks a lot of the boxes), and of course the star of today’s story – The Survivalists (it’s right there in the game’s title!).
The genre really seems to have taken off on Apple’s subscription service.
It’s highly unlikely you’ll have enough hours in the day to do them all justice, but with all these survival game options available on Apple TV, you’ll no doubt find at least one that floats your boat (or completely wrecks it right at the start of the game). From there it’s a case of learning the mechanics, peeling off layers of depth and complexity, and making that game’s world your own.
Today’s titular subject, and the reason ATVG has teed off on a survivalist tangent, is the fact that The Survivalists from Team 17 today received a massive update, promising to carve even more hours out of the day or night. Or both.

Hot on the heels of Radian Games announcing a huge incoming update for its excellent Apple Arcade racer Speed Demons, which you can read all about right here, Sunnyside Games also announced today that there is more on the way for Towaga: Among Shadows.
With currently 80 games to choose from on Apple Arcade, and more on the way (you can check out another 24 upcoming games right here), it will take ATVG some time to experience them all.
Tonight I’ve jumped in and had a look at Towaga: Among Shadows for the first time, and was once again made aware of the high bar of quality that Apple Arcade games are setting on our Apple TVs (and of course iPads, iPhones, and now Macs).
If, unlike me, you’re deep into the weeds of Towaga’s content, and are hoping for more, today’s announcement will definitely put a smile on your dial.

One of the beautiful things about gaming in 2017 is that games you’re really enjoying can actually get better. Minor or Major niggles that you experienced with a game, or that may have even caused you to hold off buying it after reading about them in a review, can be patched post-release.
Those who grew up with pixels being beamed through the air are wondering why I’m stating the bleeding obvious, whereas those like myself who cut their teeth on Atari cartridges may still appreciate this technical marvel.
Gee-whiz, what will they think of next Grand-Pappy?
We took a break from Forma.8 tonight to see what’s what. Have a read of our Subdivision Infinity review to get up to speed, and then step on through to page 2 via the button below to hear about the cool stuff that’s just been added.
