Update: The 0.7.5 Christmas update is out now. Enjoy.

Original Story: Is there a better way to get into the Christmas spirit than to gather in cyberspace with complete strangers and shoot each other? Probably.

Maybe we’ll take the edge off it and call it projectile tag. Or snowball fights with bullets instead of snowballs.

Peace and love notwithstanding, sci-fi shooter Shadowgun Legends is getting in early with a huge Christmas update.

How early?

This Monday.

Lots of juicy details were revealed last night during Madfinger Games’ weekly stream, which you’ll find embedded below.

As with the excellent Halloween update, the hub will once again be decorated, this time of course with Christmas trappings. For those who can’t wait until Monday, if you jump in around the 18-minute mark in the stream you’ll get a sneak peek at the updated hub. There’s Christmas lights, snowfall, snow drifts piled up in corners, snowmen (and women? Not sure), ice – the Madfinger elves have been busy.

The actual event itself will be PvP-based, but there’ll also be brand new missions coming in Monday’s update. All we know of those at this stage is from the blurb on Madfinger’s site, describing two new chain quests that “unfold the story of Slade’s crew” resulting in a Legendary item reward.

Whether that Legendary item is a weapon, armour, or cosmetic, we’ll have to wait until Monday to find out.

The Hive Mind raid will be returning next week, there’ll be new Legendary weapons,  and three new Active Skills – Blink, Hunter Mine, and Invisibility. Nice.

Jokes, Easter eggs, cosmetics, lots of bug fixes, and more also arrive courtesy of  Madfinger’s Santa sack. Lots to look forward to.

Madfinger also revealed in last night’s stream that this holiday event will run from next week until the first week of January, so players will have plenty of time to enjoy the festivities.

ATVG has been getting a lot of quality game-time from Shadowgun Legends this year, as you can tell from my review, and Madfinger seem to be sticking to their promise of lots more to come, with regular content updates dropping throughout 2018.

Here’s the full stream:
